About the Artist

Janis Eaglesham is a talented artist originally from the prairies, now based in Victoria, BC, who has a deep appreciation for nature, evident in her serene and renewing landscapes. Her evocative figurative pieces, which are nostalgic and infused with feminine beauty, draw inspiration from both her prairie upbringing and personal experiences.

Janis honed her skills at the University of Saskatchewan in Saskatoon, where she studied Drawing and Design, and later pursued Fine Arts at Langara College in Vancouver, before earning a diploma in Painting and Printmaking from Fraser Valley College in Abbotsford. She has also had the privilege of attending several workshops with renowned artists such as Kevin Beilfuss, Barry Rafuse, Ingrid Christensen, and many others.

A proud member of the Federation of Canadian Artists, Janis has been recognized for her exceptional work, receiving an award of excellence from the Fraser Valley chapter in 2004, and an outstanding achievement award for "Reclining Nude" from the Federation of Canadian Artists FVC in 2014. She is also a founding member of the Stave Falls Artist Group.
